We’ve been busy saving up all our fabric scraps and have made some funky calico drawstring bags to put them in.
We’ve cut out fabric scrap letters and attached them to the outside of the bag so you know exactly what’s in the bag.
This is how “We Sell Fabric Scraps” works:
* we collect off-cuts, remnants and fabric scraps from various designers and makers we know. This saves them from going straight into land-fill, which is great for the planet;
* you have the choice of whether you receive a calico bag with your fabric scraps or just a refill, and whether you want 1.5kg or 3kg of remnants, scraps and off-cuts. We can also offer personalised calico bags, or bags full of the smallest of scraps for projects that require stuffing material. Once we’re a little more established, we’re aiming to offer fabric scraps by designer too, which is great for followers of fashion;
* we can post you fabric scraps to you or you can visit us at one of the workshops or events we do. We’ll add a calendar and post our upcoming events here. Just check out the RSS feed or sign up to follow us on Facebook or Twitter. We’ll be liasing with some local businesses to recycle their empty boxes for packaging, so when we post farbic scraps to you, our carbon footprint will be a little smaller, which is great for the environment;
* you will be raising funds for a worthy cause. All profits from We Sell Fabric Scraps will be passed onto State of Being Outstanding, a project that combines personal and entrepreneurial mentoring with eco and holistic principles. This project needs to raise £5000 a year before it can apply for charity status.
